Joe Rosenthal's flag raising photograph was printed on almost every newspaper in the United States and became so popular that the men in the photograph were asked to support a war bond campaign. But did you know that the flag in the photograph was not the first one to be raised and the first flag raising is considered to be even more important than the second?
