WWII PURPLE HEART - RETURNED HOME AFTER 77 YEARS
The PURPLE HEART Mini Documentary is dedicated to George M. Gillilan (1918-1944). He is one of many young men who gave his life for our freedom and whose personal items are simply for sale online without his family knowing about it. With this story we hope to inspire others to follow our example and return lost belongings of soldiers to their families.
Historiography is often about the great battles and generals and rarely about the 'ordinary' soldiers. This is a tribute to those who never made it into the history books at school, but should just as well not be forgotten.
