In this tutorial I am explaining Oracle local listener and dynamic as well as static registration of a database instance with the local listener.

Local Listener - Is the one that is running from the same host and home as the Oracle Database.
Static Registration - The instance details are hard coded in the listener.ora file.
Dynamic Registration - The instance details are provided by the PMON process on the go.

As a dba, you might already know about relationship between the instance and the listener. This video is to show a few more related aspects in this context.
