Description:
In this scenario, we'll develop a real-time integration using SAP CPI (SAP Cloud Platform Integration) to streamline the order processing system for a retail company. The integration will involve fetching invoice details based on order numbers provided by the sender system. We'll utilize SOAP and OData adapters for communication between systems. This integration will serve as a proof of concept (POC) to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of integrating these systems.
Steps:
1. Sender System Sending Order Data:
The sender system, which could be an e-commerce platform or a point-of-sale (POS) system, sends order data in XML format to SAP CPI. This order data includes essential information such as order number, customer details, product information, and quantity.
2. Fetching Invoice Details:
SAP CPI receives the order data and extracts the order number. Based on this order number, SAP CPI initiates a request to fetch invoice details from the backend system using SOAP and OData adapters. The SOAP adapter will handle communication with the SOAP-based invoice service, while the OData adapter will interact with the OData-based invoice database.
3. Integration with SOAP and OData Adapters:
