Replacing air duct deflectors on a Volkswagen Passat B7 requires care and some tools. How to replace air duct deflectors on a Volkswagen Passat B7:
Park the car on a level surface and turn off the ignition.
If necessary, disconnect the battery to avoid accidental short circuiting.
Using a plastic trim tool, carefully pry up the center of the deflector and push the blades all the way to the edges. Start on one side and gradually work your way to the other to avoid damaging the trim.
When the deflector is lifted, carefully pull it out of the fastenings. If it resists, check for additional fasteners or latches.
After removing the deflector, disconnect all electrical connections (if present), such as the deflector light or clock. A small screwdriver may be needed for this.
Connect all electrical connectors to the new deflector.
Insert the new deflector into place, pressing gently until it clicks into place and clicks into place.
Check that all deflectors are installed correctly and are not loose.
If necessary, reconnect the battery and check the operation of the ventilation system and possible illumination of the deflectors.
