Adventures! Philippines - Eco-Thrills: Preserving the Green
This video is from the Department of Tourism Philippines, and here is a message about this tourism campaign:
Philippine tourism sharpens its edge, reclaims its brilliance by catering to those who are thrilled by authentically exploring, who prefer getting their hands dirty instead of sitting in the shade while listening to their tour guides. This is the blood of eco-tourism, of travel that echoes deep into any traveler's experience and longing for an interactive encounter with nature.
Underground, find not just rock but a magnificent river: ride a boat through this mysterious course of water in Palawan that winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. Dolphins may also thrill those who are excited by wildlife, and those who appreciate exotic animals without having to be in direct contact with them will enjoy bird-watching at Villa Escudero in Laguna. Amazing whale sharks also abound in Donsol - the whale shark capital of the world - and swimming with them has even been featured in Time Magazine as "Best Animal Encounter in Asia."
In Surigao, explorers will want to get a pump-boat to Sohotan Caves during the lowtide, which is the only way to get there. And even walking has been infused with excitement in Cagayan de Oro's Canopy Walk.
Put the ruggedness back into exploration and infuse with a sense of purpose: Eco-tourism not only lets you encounter the country in its wild authenticity; it also lets you contribute to the growing project of preserving nature.
