Sword & Shield, 2 handed Weapon, Bow, Staff or Orb are the choices you are given when selecting your starting equipment. While the specific names and side-properties of these items might vary with our hero's culture, you still have to pick one of the five categories.

While everyone has developed their favorites to pick, one weapon in particular has been largely seen by the community as the weaker, inferior choice. Today I will argue that this underdog weapon is actually potentially the best class to start with.

Age of Wonders 4 is a 4x turn based strategy game where you command heroes, build cities, research spells and special units and explore dungeons all while dealing with the political reality of your opponents as well as independent factions.
