In this video I test four consumer routers with the same devices in the same locations one after the other to see what the results are.
This is a "normal user" test.. the routers were unpacked, plugged in and tested. No fiddling with settings or tweaking channels or channel widths, just the routers in their default, often auto channel selection, settings.
Routers tested are:
*Zyxel VMG8825-B50B (More info video coming soon)
*Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub THG3000 (More info here: • Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub THG3000 Router and... )
*TP-Link C50 AC1200 (More info here: • TP-Link C50 AC1200 - Access Point Set... )
*Genexis DRG7820 FTTP router (More info here: • Inside a Genexis DRG7820 FTTP router. )
All tested with:
*iPad Pro 2020
*Lenovo P2 mobile phone
*Asus laptop with a Realtek 8821AE wireless card.
Summary: The router and the device make a huge difference. Even on a device with good results the next minute the result may be vastly worse and then return to normal shortly after.
There will be far more in-depth videos on youtube about chains, channels, channel widths, what devices are good or bad .. but I tried to keep this video simple.
