Hay bale fire will burn itself out in coming weeks, firefighters say
A neighbor's call alerted firefighters to a hay bale blaze that will now burn for weeks, first responders at the scene said.
Dauphin County 911 Dispatch says firefighters were called to the fire on the 500 block of Trail Road around 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 9.
Firefighters at the scene say the bales will burn for several weeks. A perimeter will help keep the fire where it is contained to one side of the field, and crews will monitor the blaze.
