The measurement outcomes collected during the operation of an error-corrected quantum computer give hints about which errors are occurring in the device. A decoder tries to infer these errors in order to correct the output of the computer. In this talk, we'll analyze the behavior and performance of different decoders on a real distance-5 surface code operating on a Sycamore quantum processor.
