Excel is beta testing a setting that lets you easily add zeros in front of other numbers (i.e., Leading Zeros) simply by unchecking a box.

If you have Office 365, you likely have access to some betas. In this tutorial, you'll see how to check if you have access to the leading zeros beta + how to use it.

The trouble with leading zeros in Excel is that, unless you take certain steps to ensure they stay displayed, the zeros disappear the second you press Enter.

This can be especially problematic if you work with ID numbers, zip codes, postal codes, and the like.

Being that this is a beta, there is no guarantee that it will be rolled out. Just something to keep in mind.
