To make a long story short, the dates of the Oakland shows have been miss-matched for a very long time. The audience video of the Oasis show in Oakland is NOT from the first night, but the second night. The audience recording I uploaded years ago from the second night coincides with the banter the brothers have from this show.
It's interesting seeing the band at this point in their career. They aren't the biggest band in the world, but they are close. Tonight, they are opening for U2, a much more well established band in the States... If only their last tour didn't dissolve. They are playing like they need to. Tight and efficient.
This is one of the very few shows we'll ever get to see Liam sing Cast No Shadow on an electric guitar. To my knowledge, only the Oakland shows have this rare feature.
Morning Glory makes it's final 90's appearance believe it or not. One of my favorite 90's songs thanks to it's non-album intro. It suited the song much better. It's a shame Noel stopped playing it during the 2000's.
The band also display two new songs: D'You Know What I Mean? and Be Here Now. D'You Know What I Mean? is already the epic that it is, but Be Here Now is a little docile to the loud opener we would come to hear from September '97 to March '98. It's quick too.
The only gripe I have are the taper and his mates. They don't care for Oasis too much. It is what it is.
Acquiesce and Supersonic are cut, most likely the taper trying to figure out how to get himself set up. I will commend him for getting a phenomenal shot of the band, and the stage.
Enjoy some more pre-Be Here Now tour content!
