Another day, another FFXVI video but now with the full Steam release~
There's no official list of improvements or Day 1 patch for the full game, but let's test if it can run better on my midrange GPU than the demo.
Here's the entirety of the next chapter of the game after the demo cut-off, along with the start of the Fanning Embers quest. Surprisingly runs well!
If you have the same specs as mine or have a similar laptop, use this gameplay video as a reference. Some important notes below 👇👇
NOTES:
🔹Keep in mind that Square & CSIII is still optimizing the Steam release, and there might be more performance enhancing patches in the near future.
🔹There is STILL some memory leaks, and horrible fps drops on cutscenes. There's a mod to temporary unlock the framerate for the cutscenes, which I used in this video. Thanks to Lyall for the FFXVIFix on Github.
🔹If you encounter heavy stuttering after a cutscene, save your progress and just restart the game. Usually it goes away.
🔹If you encounter heavy stuttering literally after loading up your game, just clear the shaders folder then relaunch the game. It will compile the shaders again & clears most of the stuttering.
🔹 The game's default DLSS file is 3.7.10 . On the second clip of this video, I used 3.7.20 and honestly didn't notice any difference. You can try it for yourself.
