The Bayernhymne (Hymn of Bavaria) is the official anthem of the Free State of Bavaria. The melody of the song was written by Max Kunz in 1860, and the text for the original first three stanzas was written by Michael Öchsner. The first performance of the song was on December 15, 1860. It was officially recognised as the national anthem of Bavaria in 1946, and in 1980 the song was officialized as having two stanzas.

The song, like most national anthems, contains many symbolic representations, including repeated allusions to the colours white and blue, Bavaria’s national colours, especially describing Bavaria's Himmel, which can refer to both sky and heaven. The march Bayerischer Defiliermarsch is often played along the hymn.

Die Bayernhymne ist die offizielle Hymne des Freistaats Bayern. Als Nationalhymne des Königreichs ersetzte sie Heil unserm König, Heil! Die Melodie (in G-Dur) stammt von Konrad Max Kunz aus dem Jahr 1860. Der Text der ursprünglichen drei Strophen stammt von Michael Öchsner. Beide waren Mitglieder der Bürger-Sänger-Zunft München, die das Lied am 15. Dezember 1860 erstmals aufführte.
