In today's clip from 'The Avengers' we see a horrible encounter with a terrible fate and Emma Peel under significant pressure.
Terrifying stuff. There's always been a strange to and fro, in 'The Avengers' between light hearted banter with more troubling murders. This episode begins with a man drowning in a rainstorm and shows Mrs Peel tied up and about to become squished into a leather jacketed pancake becoming a pancake in leather before finally reaching some kind of good-natured conclusion.
The white-bearded Noel Purcell makes an appearance as a doom-sayer and we see a very young Geoffrey Palmer as the evil genius cheery assistant.
