In this video we're deploying the free and open source openmediavault software. We'll examine hardware requirements, go through the installation process, and set up and configure the Network Attached Storage. Then finally we'll look at accessing the NAS from a device on the network.

Note. While I didn't mention it in the video, please bear in mind that RAID is not a replacement for a good backup solution. While it will give you some protection against drive failure, it will not bring back files that you have accidentally deleted, for example. For this reason, always make sure you have a decent backup strategy in place.
