Dubai's Self-Flying Helicopter Taxi Doesn't Need Roads Where It's Going
Would you hail an autonomous air taxi?
Dubai's latest hope to alleviate ground traffic is a flying copter that can transport two passengers for up to 30 minutes. The copter can reach speeds of 60 mph and doesn't require a pilot. The hover-taxi prototype recently had its first launch, without passengers.
It could be another five years before the taxi can ferry passengers for real, but there's already at least one other competitor aiming to be in the air. Looks like Dubai's race to own the skies is heating up.
