Description:
Dynamic Zone Visibility allows us to switch between multiple connected elements on a dashboard, from single worksheets, to multiple worksheets; from a certain set of parameters to another; or from one worksheet with its legends, filters, and parameters, to another.
Dynamic Zone Visibility relies on Boolean fields to work. These simple fields allow Tableau to use TRUE/FALSE logic to determine what to display and when. By using a parameter tied to a Boolean field, we can give our end users the power to select which view to display.
What do you need to make Dynamic Zone visibility work? Here’s my checklist:
1. A parameter that allows you to select different between the various options to display in your dashboard.
2. Boolean calculated fields connected to the parameter.
3. A container in your dashboard containing the worksheets/elements that you want to swap.
In this week’s video, I’ll walk you through how to do a basic worksheet swap using Dynamic Zone Visibility!
