RECIPE
Baked at 350 degrees for approximately 25 minutes.
2 1/4 Cups AP Flour
2 Tbspns Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 Tspns Baking Powder
1/2 Tspn Baking Soda
1/2 Tspn Salt
1 Stick Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
1 1/2 Cups of Organic Cane Sugar
3 Large Eggs (Room Temperature)
1 Tbspn Vanilla Extract
2 Tbspns Liquid Red Food Coloring
3/4 Cup Buttermilk (Room Temperature)
1 1/2 Tspn White Vinegar
Cream Cheese Butter Frosting
1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
12 Ozs. Cream Cheese (Room Temperature)
6 Cups Powdered Sugar
2 1/2 Tspns Vanilla Extract
PREP AHEAD
Grease pans and set aside.
DIRECTIONS
In a separate bowl, sift the flour, add the salt, baking powder, baking soda , cocoa powder and mix with a wire whisk until well combine and set to the side.
In an electric stand mixer, cream the butter, oil and sugar for about 4 minutes, making sure to scrape the sides.
Add the eggs one at a time beating well after each but not over beating.
Add the vanilla extract, red food color and mix till well incorporated.
Add the white vinegar to the butter milk, mix and set to the side.
Remove the mixing bowl from stand mixer and add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, starting with the dry and ending with the dry mixing by hand.
