Welcome to the Meta Instincts channel! In today’s video, we’ll be diving into the optimal ship setup for the Drowning faction in Sea of Conquest. With the recent addition of S2 heroes Hamar Tornquist and Titus Slade, we now have a complete set of legendary heroes to dominate the seas. If you’re looking for tips on how to maximize your ship’s potential and outmaneuver your opponents, this guide is for you.
Understanding the Drowning Faction
The Drowning faction in Sea of Conquest specializes in applying and capitalizing on the "Taking on Water" debuff, which inflicts continuous damage over time. The new legendary heroes, Hamar Tornquist and Titus Slade, are key to this strategy, offering powerful synergies that enhance drowning damage and debilitate enemy ships.
Captain Selection: Hamar Tornquist vs. Barnacle
For the captain position on your Drowning ship, you have two strong options: Hamar Tornquist and Barnacle.
Hamar Tornquist is the superior choice, delivering up to 200% attack damage to five enemy ships while applying two stacks of Taking on Water. His second and fifth skills boost drowning damage significantly, making him a formidable force. Additionally, his fourth skill reduces enemy damage output, further tipping the scales in your favor.
Barnacle is a viable alternative if you haven’t unlocked Hamar Tornquist yet. While he deals less damage (100% to three ships), he still applies two stacks of Taking on Water and has a chance to deal additional drowning damage through basic attacks. However, his overall damage output and utility are less impressive compared to Hamar Tornquist.
First Mate: Titus Slade vs. Eileen
When it comes to choosing a First Mate, Titus Slade outshines Eileen in almost every aspect.
Titus Slade delivers a staggering 600% + 100% damage to a single target, applying multiple stacks of Taking on Water. His high damage output and ability to boost drowning damage make him an essential part of the Drowning setup.
Eileen, while a solid option, falls short with her 130% damage to three ships. Although she also applies Taking on Water, her chances of doing so are lower, making her less effective in a drowning-focused strategy.
Gunner Choice: Adeline vs. Morrison
For the Gunner position, Adeline is the clear winner.
Adeline is a legendary hero who can deal 180% of her attack damage to six random targets. Her skills amplify drowning damage and build up rage, making her a perfect fit for the Drowning faction. While her chance to apply Taking on Water is lower (10%), her synergy with other drowning heroes compensates for this.
Morrison is a decent alternative but lacks the raw damage and drowning synergy that Adeline brings to the table.
Optimal Ship: Stormbringer
The Stormbringer is the best choice for a Drowning-focused ship. As a legendary ship that can be built without spending money, it offers substantial benefits:
Rupturer o' the Abyss ship parts increase drowning damage by 10% and amplify damage taken by ships affected by Taking on Water.
Vargr's Fury ultimate skill enhances rage, allowing your heroes to activate their skills earlier and gain an advantage in battle.
The ship’s bonus of +10 capacity provides additional sailors and boosts the ship's HP, further solidifying its dominance on the battlefield.
Conclusion
With Hamar Tornquist as your captain, Titus Slade as your First Mate, and Adeline as your Gunner, all aboard the Stormbringer, you’re set to crush your enemies in Sea of Conquest. This setup maximizes drowning damage and ensures you can outpace and outmaneuver your opponents.
