Long slender members in compression have a unique way in which they fail. View this webinar recording to see this phenomena known as buckling and run your own buckling simulations using SOLIDWORKS Simulation.

We start by discussing some buckling principles and the packages of SOLIDWORKS Simulation that can assist. Then we look at a specific example of a bracket to assess how buckling, stress, and compressive loads all relate. We start with a simple hand calc and eventually run a full Nonlinear Dynamic analysis and compare results and assumptions along the way.
