According to Drupal.org, there are still over 400,000 sites using Drupal 7. Backdrop CMS is a fork of Drupal 7 explicitly created to provide an option for Drupal 7 site owners that are unlikely to ever make the jump to modern Drupal (8/9/10). Backdrop CMS preserves the workflow and coding practices of Drupal 7 while adding some of the features of modern Drupal such as configuration management and a new layout system.
In this presentation we will talk about:
What is Backdrop CMS and how is it similar and different from modern Drupal (8/9/10)?
Backdrop CMS Values and Principles
Backdrop CMS contrib update. Which contrib modules are available for Backdrop CMS and which ones are not?
How to choose between modern Drupal and Backdrop CMS when upgrading a Drupal 7 site?
Tools and resources available for Drupal 7 to Backdrop CMS upgrades.
