Then, right-click on the selection and choose "Format Cells." In the Format Cells dialog box, select the "Protection" tab and check the box next to "Locked." Click "OK" to close the dialog box. Finally, go to the "Review" tab and click on "Protect Sheet." In the Protect Sheet dialog box, check the box next to "Protect worksheet and contents of locked cells" and enter a password if desired.
