Karn Evil 9, 2nd Impression - Emerson, Lake & Palmer (Martin Stellmacher)
"Karn Evil 9" was written by Keith Emerson (Composition), Greg Lake, and former King Crimson lyricist Peter Sinfield (Lyrics). It is the fifth and final track on Emerson, Lake and Palmer's album "Brain Salad Surgery", published in 1973 on Manticore Records.
The whole suite consists of three Impressions. The 2nd Impression is not quite as famous as the 1st Impression Part 2, which ELP frequently used as an opening track to their live performances - due to the perfect line "welcome my friends to the show that never ends". But this middle part offers quite a number of fine challenges - as usual.
