“There was a place that I wanted to go internally and emotionally and find, I don't really like the word comfort, but that's the word that's popping into my head right now. But it was, you know when you're longing for a conversation with a friend or someone who would understand what it was you were feeling, but you couldn't find the person, you couldn't find the music, so you had to sort of have that conversation with yourself. And so it was kind of like that, it was like the music became a place where I could sort of hold these conversations.

There's nothing I know that will soothe this feeling. So I just sort of went looking for it in myself and on the piano. It was just a compulsion to keep making music. And then by the end it was also, I need to hear something and I can't find it. I wonder if I can make it.” - ‪@bethortonofficial‬

Today, we're thrilled to unveil our latest video, a collaboration with ‪@988Lifeline‬ as part of our "Song That Found Me At The Right Time" series. This installment diverges slightly from our usual format, featuring the iconic “folktronica” artist Beth Orton. In this video, Beth graces us with a selection of songs from her remarkable new album "Weather Alive," a creation born out of profound necessity.

The privilege of entering Beth’s personal space to film this video was both humbling and exciting. A longstanding musical inspiration, Beth's velvety voice and poignant lyrics consistently resonate with the depths of the soul. It was our belief that she would construct a world entirely her own, and she certainly didn't disappoint.
