Why measure your supply chain performance?

The delivered in full on time, or DIFOT, metric quantifies the number of successfully fulfilled sales orders. It is important to monitor this metric to quantify the performance of your supply chain.
There are several factors that causes an adverse DIFOT rating in your supply chain, for example:

1. Supplier delays cause adverse impacts and shifting dates in the availability to promise (ATP).
2. Planning issues, e.g. forecast accuracy or human error in the planning processes.
3. Warehouse efficiency, e.g. if your warehouse services is misplacing, short shipping, and or damaging goods.
4. Quality issues in the manufacturing processes

When a sales order is scheduled in Order Management, a promised delivery date is provided and a schedule ship date is recorded on the order line. In this video we demonstrate how to create comparison reporting between the actual schedule ship date versus the originally stated scheduled arrival date.

It is then possible to create a delivery in full on time (DIFOT) metric / performance Indicator; a key metric in a supply chain for shipping / warehouse transportation.
