‘WHAT 4’ is a very dark, edgy, moody pop song written in Las Vegas with one of Rachel’s closest friends and producers. They were both inspired to write about this topic because they both are pretty bitter about the same things life offered them and have been through a lot of the same crap. Between being taken advantage of in the industry constantly, being lied to and being given false promises, being used and relationships that left them more broken than fulfilled, they decided to pour their guts and anger out with ‘What 4’. Believing in the good in people but then being let down all the time gets pretty old. The song's main purpose is to just say ya might as well be dead inside like the rest of the world and see if that approach works better at getting what you want. It seems the world has gotten darker and people are all out for themselves and to use each other and have hidden agendas instead of working together. Rachel’s mama taught her better than that but sometimes you just gotta get the anger out and that’s what What 4 is for. Xo
