➡️ After hearing Dead Kennedys for the first time earlier this year with "Holiday in Cambodia", I knew it was a band I'd have to gradually warm up to. A majority of you said that their "Plastic Surgery Disasters" album was where I needed to be, and after seeing "Halloween" on the album's track-listing, I saved it for a special occasion. This song wasn't what I was expecting, and they really won me over with a bluesy-yet-slightly-sinister track you could dance to from the first beat. I discuss the strength of Klaus Flouride's opening groove, how they boldly misdirect you with a cliche 1-4-5 progression before flipping it on its head, why the guitar part is so effective to create contrast, a breakdown of the bizarre chord progressions, and much more! 👺 👁️ 🎭
