EMS was hired to 3D scan a vintage racing trophy that was originally created in 1870 and awarded by the Prince of Wales, King Edward VII, to the fastest schooner in open competition. Sometime after that the trophy was lost until 1934 when it was found in a silversmith’s shop in Kent, England. In 1937 The Royal Motor Yacht Club would present the trophy to the fastest motorboat speed recorder holder. The trophy would stay in that driver’s possession until the speed record was broken.
EMS 3D Scanned the World’s Water Speed Record trophy in very high resolution and detail so that a replica of the cup could be made.
