Professor Michael Fuhrer of the Monash University School of Physics explains how the physical properties of carbon depend on the nanoscale arrangement of carbon atoms. Carbon atoms arranged in a sheet (graphene) have different electrical conduction properties than carbon atoms arranged in a cylinder (carbon nanotubes).
