David Borden composed a set of twelve preludes and fugues between 2011 and 2017. This video features MIDI realizations of the final three pairs in the set dedicated to composer Pauline Oliveros, musicologist Xak Bjerken, and MIT physicist Neil Gershenfeld respectively.
Some of the pieces feature Borden's idiosyncratic style of counterpoint influenced by minimalism, while others incorporate elements of chromaticism and jazz harmony.
0:27 Prelude and Fugue No. 10 in D Lydian (for Pauline Oliveros)
7:28 Prelude and Fugue No. 11 in E Mixolydian (for Xak Bjerken)
