Easy to follow tutorial on emptying the trash / recycle bin on Mac OS. When you delete a file or folder on Macbook or Mac, it gets put into the trash app, where it will stay for 30 days until it gets permanently deleted. Here is how to empty the trash of all deleted files so everything is permanently deleted on your Mac.

Steps:

Click on the trash can in the bottom right of the doc.

Then click ‘empty’ in the top right of the page.

Click ‘empty bin’ on the popup that appears.

Note that there is no way of getting back the items that are deleted from the trash when you empty it.

Your macs trash has now been emptied.
