New album CANDLE BURNING OUT https://baco.lnk.to/CandleBurning

Groundation returns with "The Youth", the powerful second single from our upcoming studio album Candle Burning—and this one is special. Featuring not one, but two reggae legends, Mykal Rose of Black Uhuru and Alpha Blondy, the African King of Reggae, alongside Groundation’s own Harrison Stafford.

This song is a reflection, a conversation with our younger selves. Looking back at our childhood, at the lessons we’ve learned, and calling out to today’s youth—urging them to seize this fleeting moment where their energy, strength, and possibilities are limitless. But as elders, we know… no matter what we say, the youth will never fully grasp how brief and precious this time truly is.

Musically, "The Youth" takes you on a journey, shifting through keys while riding the deep, infectious backbeat of Zach Morillo and the heavy groove of bassist Isaiah Palmer. The musicianship is next level, with soaring horn sections and mesmerizing piano melodies bringing the message to life.

🎥 The Video: A stunning blend of studio footage from ICP Studios in Brussels, Belgium, featuring Groundation hard at work, alongside Mykal Rose in Miami, Alpha Blondy in Africa, and Harrison in Jamaica. Woven throughout are moving images of children from around the world, perfectly illustrating the song’s message. Directed and mastered by Alex Brown from the BACO Records camp.

🔥 Watch, feel the message, and share with the youth! 🔥

(LYRICS)

Woah! Jah Defenders

Some see it like a turning clock
Watching all the sunsets listening to my son talk
While others speak about the waisted time they’ve spent
Lost in superstition, forgetting the mission
My youth, my youth, my youth, I do remember
We’re coming from the brightest flames
Down to a burning ember

All around!
The Youth come like a candle light
You can see it all around

Children of the righteous, shinning, growing, beautiful
Some a visionary too, yea yea yea
Oh I’m a visionary too yea yea
No escaping, no judgement, no freedom
No shaking, no praising, no teacher, no preacher
No way!

EHI !!!!!
