New album CANDLE BURNING OUT https://baco.lnk.to/CandleBurning
The wait is over! Groundation returns with “Energy,” the first single from their highly anticipated studio album Candle Burning, dropping May 23, 2025. This electrifying track sets the tone for what’s to come—an album that redefines reggae music with deep grooves, powerful messages, and masterful musicianship.
Shot on location in Portland, Jamaica, just outside Port Antonio, this breathtaking music video was brought to life by the gifted Jamaican cinematographer Tony Fisher. Two stunning locations were chosen to reflect the essence of the song: by the sea at dawn, capturing the first light of hope, and at the Rio Grande River under the peak sun, illuminating the journey of life and unity.
🎶 About the Song:
Featuring three of Groundation’s four vocalists—bassist Isaiah Palmer, harmony singer Thamar Williams, and founding member Harrison Stafford—“Energy” is a powerful anthem of light breaking through darkness. Driven by a militant steppers groove from drummer Zach Morillo, the track pulses with polyrhythms, a hypnotic bassline, and soaring horn melodies. The song climaxes with an epic piano solo from keyboardist Pau Dangla Valls, bringing everything together in a thrilling crescendo.
“Energy” is just the beginning. Get ready for Candle Burning, an album that will shake the foundations of reggae music.

LYRICS
(Harrison)
Whatever comes to be
Was always meant for me
With an energy like a wolf, starving
Soul binding
Race towards his home
All you could achieve
If you only believe in yourself, believe in yourself
Like a rainbow, over river Jordan
(Thamar)
You speak of a spell
That will launch out the first dawn
And bring us out of the night
(Isaiah)
The story of a sound that goes
Sparks the light that starts to grow
Now in everything that you see
Jah blessed them all spiritually
Don’t run away and your future will be bright
Have confidence…out of the darkness must come out the light
(Interlude)
(Harrison)
Soul binding
The energy, slowly grows
To all those weeping and a wailing
Stop weeping and a wailing now!
No matter the forces of victory love still carries on
Oh Jah build it great and strong
(Piano solo out)
