Mouthwashing | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
Happy Halloween, everyone! To celebrate the end of spooky season we archive one of the most requested games recently. Mouthwasing is an indie horror game that took the YouTube world by storm. I heard much praise from various YouTubers and the Steam reviews are overwhelmingly positive. So of course I had to check it out for myself, too.
And I was not prepared for the journey I was about to embark on. Mouthwashing tells the story of a crashed futuristic cargo ship as we follow the lives of the crew in the months after the crash. What starts out as a pretty light and humorous adventure quickly takes a turn for the worst. The storytelling is done non linear as it jumps between time lines constantly. This adds to the mystery and the suspense and I had so many questions and theories while playing this.
All the crew members are also distinct and unique and I cared for all of them. The pacing is great as it gives you just a bit more information with each time skip and the puzzles are nice and not too hard. The horror elements are also definitely there and this is the absolute definition of psychological horror. Many times when things were starting to get scary it wasn't actually the game itself that scared me, but it were the things I was thinking about. The things that the game made me think due to its incredible sound design or crazy visuals. This game is definitely a must play for any lovers of horror games and adventures.
