Call of Duty Black Ops 6 | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
Another year of course means another Call of Duty. This time we return to the world and setting of Black Ops and continue the story revolving Adler, Woods and their companions. I thought that Black Ops Cold War was an excellent entry in the CoD franchise and it seems that with this campaign the developers have made more risks and headed into a new direction.
We play in the early 90's and it seems that the CIA has been compromised from within. This means that we gather a team and go dark to find out what the mole is planning. The big theme for this entire campaign is non-linearity and freedom of movement.
What I mean with this is that in almost every mission you get a set of objectives and you can tackle them in any order that you want. Sometimes there are also different ways to clear a mission that offer interaction with entirely different characters and circumstances. This ups the replay value and makes the game sometimes feel like a mix between Hitman and Deus Ex.
The coolest missions are definitely the ones where you work undercover with your team at either a political gathering or a fancy casino. These missions make it feel like you are playing a scene from Mission Impossible and I would love to see more of this type of gameplay in future campaigns. The attention to detail is great and I had a lot of fun exploring and thinking of the different ways to clear a mission. Now with risks I mean that they actually implement a lot of dream sequences here and are not afraid to get pretty loopy.
This might be to some people's tastes, but I prefer a more serious and grounded Call of Duty, so those missions were my least favorite. It was cool to see the zombies in the singleplayer game of course, but they did outlive their welcome.
All in all Black Ops 6 is not amongst the worst campaigns in the CoD series and its not amongst the best. This is pretty straight through the middle and can offer a nice rollercoaster ride for a few hours.
