Remembering 9/11 heroes at the 10th annual memorial stair climb
Nearly 1500 people took part in the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Kenan Stadium Wednesday, September 11th, 2024. The event honors the 2,977 people who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001, with participants climbing 2,071 stairs - the same amount first responders climbed in the World Trade Center towers on 9/11. Carolina’s Army ROTC sponsored the event, which began at 6 a.m. and drew members from the Carolina community and beyond.
