On the day after Christmas, we decided to go to London via road and experience London from London Eye. London Eye is a Giant Wheel with Glass compartments in the shape of an eye (spherical) where people can sit or stand and experience London from a height of 135 metres. London Eye also called the Millennium wheel was the world's largest Ferris wheel when it was first launched in March 2000. Its a good experience and an one time visit, although I would have preferred to visit in a summer night when the sky is clear. We started our trip from Guildford in our 2014 Mini Cooper Clubman D by 11:00 AM but the roads were too busy and it took us nearly 2 hrs to reach Central London. There was an accident in the A3 which caused a long congestion. However I believe the path to the experience is equally important as the experience itself. I have tried to capture most of our travel experience through out this vide. I hope it's helpful. We packed a light lunch also as it seemed a way to save some Pounds as Eating out in London could be too expensive.
We went via Kingston, Wimbledon to London. We were able to see many monuments like the Admiral Statue, Nelson's Column, Trafalgar Square, Westminister Palace and Big Ben.
London is a vibrant city in the night and Christmas makes it more brighter and colourful. The streets were all blessed by the angels and it was beauty to see. We enjoyed a small walk through the Hungerford Bridge enjoying the Thames flowing below us and then through the Queens way to experience The London Eye.
To me it was a good experience, I loved watching the city skyline from the heights and was fortunate enough to see the bridges and building slowly lighting up as the night fall.
My Advice: Talk to strangers, smile at people, ask them to take a photo of yours, there sometimes are better ways to take a photo than as a selfie.Be kind and try to help others, listen to the street musicians and reward their free entertainment. Show to kids how kind we should be by being kind.
