The release of the Tecno phantom X makes me both excited and concerned for future Tecno devices. Here's why.
Why I'm excited
Tecno is looking at rebranding maybe? They want to be able to compete with the best of the best. They want to make a phone that the reviewers will praise positively.
So they have all the jargons that the tech reviewers put into their videos such as
Amoled displays
In display fingerprint sensor
Curved screen
Premium packaging
And you know I love beautiful and sexy phones right? The design of a phone is very important to me.
Why I'm concerned
Tecno as a brand, has positioned itself as a manufacturer of relatively affordable smartphones which pack a lot of features that majority of its users love. By this, I mean you get big battery capacities, phones which come with a pair of earphones in the box, dual sims, expandable storage, huge display sizes, and good amounts of ram and storage.
You get these at very competitive prices, as compared to the other brands like Samsung and
Huawei in the markets where Tecno sells phones.
And to better understand where I'm coming from, we need to take a closer look at the markets that Tecno sells most of their devices in.
Typically, Africa, and Asia. And Tecno beat Samsung to claim Africa's smartphone top spot in 2020. That's very impressive.
And that can be attributed to the fact that Tecno phones are relatively affordable, and provide good storage capacities and large batteries.
Tecno offers phones with big batteries. 5,000 and 6000 mahs of battery capacity.
