Thomas & Friends AEG James Metal Engine Toy History & Factory Errors
The new Thomas & Friends All Engines Go toys are very popular. I see them selling out in store over and over. This video is a deep dive into Thomas AEG James No5 Metal Engine who has had a complete makeover Vs the Push Along 2018 design. This James has some curious design changes, some are good while others are strange. Via my 'ADULT TOY COLLECTION' of Thomas toys I look back at the die cast James from Learning Curve Take Along, then Mattel Take N Play, Thomas Adventures & Push Along. It's been a really rocky road in toy design especially after Thomas Adventures. From 2014 to 2020 the Thomas toys were in a really strange death spiral of poor designs and detail drifting from what the incredible earlier toys presented. Hopefully a lesson here in what not to do with classic and much loved toys. James is one of the most popular Thomas And Friends characters. It's nice to see the AEG James presented so well. Strange he's lost his distinctive black linework.
I also find more Thomas AEG Motorised Trackmaster 3 'Factory Error' toys, the off set line work is a very common error I am finding over and over when toy hunting. During 2022 I'm still seeing shortages of popular toys. Hot Wheels single cars is constantly in short supply. I predict that the same supply chain problems that have been seen for a few years now will continue. My simple advice is if you see a toy now in store grab it. Chances are it won't be there in the lead up to Christmas.
