Dharmasthala to Mookambika kollur | Moodbidri Jain temple | Anegudde Kumbhashi | Menthe Dosa |
After covering Dharmasthala pilgrimage in our Karnataka Coastal Temple Series, we will in this episode show all the important religious, cultural and tourist places that come on our way from Dharmasthala to Kolluru Shri Mookambika Devi Temple.

On the way, we stopped at the following important sites:
a) Venoor Bahubali Statue: Also known as Bahubali Tirth Kshetra
b) Moodbidri: It is located 20 kms from Venoor and 30 km from Mangalore. There are 18 famous Jain Temples in Moodbidri.
We stopped at Padiwals Vegetarian Restaurant at Moodbidri located at Main Road, near Hanuman Temple, Mudbidri, Karnataka. We tried following items here:
i) Katmandige: It is a Jain Sweet, also known as Paper Sweet
ii) Kadale: Price Rs.30/- Made of White Channa, sweet potato, desiccated coconut and mustard seeds
iii) Tuppa Dosa: Rs. 40/- It is a simple ghee roasted dosa
We also paid respects at this unique Hanuman Temple where coconut water is offered to Lord Hanuman Ji.
c) Thousand Pillar 15th Century Jain Temple: Located within the walking distance from Padiwals Restaurant, it has an entry ticket of Rs. 20/-.
d) Then, before reaching Mookambika, we took the road from Moodbidri to Udupi. From Udupi, we travelled 26 km to reach Kundapur where we visited another 2 holy sites.
e) On this route, 30 km from Udupi, we stopped Hotel Latha Veg, Fisheries Rd, Kota.

i) Menthe Dose: Rs. 50/-
ii) Golibaje
iii) Navratan Drink: Rs. 50/- Made of black grapes crushed in vanilla ice-cream
f) Sri Guru Narasimha Temple: It is located at Saligrama, Karnataka. Just 3 km from Hotel Latha, Kota
g) Anegudde Sri Vinayaka Temple, Kumbhashi, Kundapur, Karnataka: Then travelling for 7 km further, we reached this famous Lord Ganpathi temple believed to be in existence during times of the Mahabharata. Here, free food Prasad is also available in afternoon.
h) We travelled for 40 kms to end our this episode at Mookambika Shaktipeeth well-known as Kolluru Shri Mookambika Devi Temple. Mookambika Shaktipeeth entire history will be shown in our upcoming episode.
