7. Venture Capitalist - A person who invests money in new businesses to help them grow. The venture capitalist decided to invest in a new technology company.
8. Hillbilly - A term, mostly negative, used to describe people from rural, mountainous areas, often seen as uneducated. Some people call themselves hillbillies to show pride in their country lifestyle.
9. Elegy - A poem or song that expresses sadness, usually for someone who has died. The singer performed an elegy in memory of his friend who passed away.
Ohio:
Ohio is a state in the Midwest region of the United States. It has a mix of cities, farms, and factories. The capital city is Columbus. Ohio is known for its sports teams, like the Cleveland Cavaliers in basketball and the Ohio State Buckeyes in college football. It also has important rivers, like the Ohio River, which helps with trade and transportation.
Minnesota:
Minnesota is a state in the northern part of the United States, near Canada. It is called the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" because it has many lakes, which are popular for fishing and boating. The capital city is St. Paul, and the largest city is Minneapolis. Minnesota is known for its cold winters and beautiful natural parks. It is also home to the Mall of America, one of the biggest shopping malls in the country.
1. Meteoric - Happening very quickly or suddenly, especially something that becomes successful fast. Her rise to fame was meteoric after she released her first hit song.
2. Rural - the countryside rather than the city. She grew up in a rural area where most people worked on farms.
3. Nebraska - A state in the central part of the United States, known for its large farmlands. Nebraska is famous for its cornfields and wide-open spaces.
4. Anything but Conventional - Very different from what is usual or normal; unique. His style of cooking is anything but conventional. He likes to mix in crazy ingredients.
5. Army National Guard - A military force in the United States that serves both the country and the individual states, often helping during emergencies like natural disasters. The Army National Guard was called in to help after the hurricane hit the coast.
6. Enlisted - Signed up to serve in the military. After high school, he enlisted in the army to serve his country.
7. Mentor - A person who guides and helps someone with less experience. She found a mentor at work who taught her how to be a better manager.
