Isoelectric Focusing
IEF is a technique used to separate and analyze proteins based on their Isoelectric Point , which is the pH at which a protein has no net charge. IEF is a type of electrophoresis, which involves the migration of charged molecules in an electric field. In IEF, a protein sample is applied to a gel containing a pH gradient, which is created by mixing different buffering agents.
