Story line:
" On this winter evening, Mr. and Mrs. Parker were reading before bed in their bedroom. Mr. Parker was sitting with a book in a chair by the window, and Mrs. Parker was lying on a soft bed under a duvet, reading a novel. Near the bed there was a small table on which stood a teapot and two cups of aromatic berry tea. The fireplace made the sounds of crackling wood, and the pleasant sounds of a snowstorm could be heard faintly from outside the house. It was a wonderful, cozy evening, seemingly not promising anything unusual. But suddenly there was a knock on the door. Mrs. and Mr. Parker looked at each other, they were not expecting anyone to visit, it seemed strange to them. Mr. Parker left the bedroom and walked down the corridor to the door. At the same moment, the knock on the door was repeated. Mr. Parker looked through the door peephole, but saw nothing because it was covered with snow. He decided to open the door. On the threshold he saw a young guy, it turned out to be a postman. He greeted the guy, to which he replied: “Hello sir, sorry it's so late, but due to the weather conditions, delivering the mail on time was a challenge. Anyway, I had to deliver it.” The young man began to rummage through his postman's bag, then pulled out a white envelope with a stamp attached, and handed it to Mr. Parker with the words: “Here, this is your letter. Have a good evening!” Mr. Parker took the letter and thanked the guy, after which the postman got on his moped and drove off, and Mr. Parker entered the house. Looking at the addressee's signature, he slowly approached his wife and exclaimed with joy: “Oooh! Darling, this is a letter from Marilyn! What a pleasant surprise!” Mrs. Parker was overjoyed and said with a smile: “This can’t be! Come on, open it, Bill.” This letter was from their daughter, who lived with her husband and three children in another country. They did not see each other for about three years, and communicated only through postal letters. The couple began to read the letter, it was long, but the main text of the letter read like this: “We plan to come to you with the whole family on December 28th late in the evening, since the train from Branston leaves late. We look forward to meeting you! With love, your Marilyn, Chuck, Anthony, Lisa and baby Ben. 7.12.1972" At first the couple did not understand how this could happen, because today was December 28th. They looked at each other in bewilderment and joy. Suddenly there was a knock on the door again, the couple jumped up and quickly approached it. Opening the door, not believing their eyes, they saw their daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren. Their happiness knew no bounds; they began enthusiastically hugging right on the threshold under the snow, after which the whole family went into the house. It was a magical, happy and joyful evening that they had a great time together. "
