Shaking Up Science: By Studying Earthquakes, Cecilia McHugh Can Forecast their Recurrence Interval
CUNY Distinguished Professor Cecilia McHugh of QC's School of Earth and Environmental Sciences has taken her research studying earthquakes and tsunamis to new areas. Through extensive dating of sediment deposits in the ocean, Prof. McHugh seeks to save lives and property by more accurately predicting and preparing cities for natural disasters.
