Did you know there are comfy, air-conditioned Mercedes Benz Coach buses with free WiFi that will take you from the major airports in Portugal to dozens of cities within the country (and all of Europe for that matter)? Almost always they will be less expensive than driving when you consider the cost of renting a car, paying for gas ($7/gallon U.S.), and tolls along the way. Buses will often be less expensive than the train and certainly cover more destinations and routes.

The Bus may take you a bit longer to get there but if you are on a holiday vacation, what's to stress about? Relax, enjoy the beautiful Portuguese countryside, and leave the driving to someone else.

In addition, if you have lots of luggage and fly into Lisbon for example, then want to fly to another destination within Portugal (or Europe), the cost to check those many bags could be hundreds of dollars, not to mention the hassle of getting through Security, etc... Not the case if you take the Bus.

This informative video will guide you STEP BY STEP in navigating from the Lisbon Airport to either of the two Lisbon Bus Stations that connect to the national routes. Those two Bus stations are Oriente and Sete Rios and are a short Metro Train away. Note that the Train station is NOT at the Lisbon Airport either and needs to be accessed by Metro, Taxi, or Rideshare service, all found at the Airport.

There are Local City Buses that can be found at the Lisboa Airport but for this video, we are focusing on getting to the Bus Terminals that have National and International Routes; Oriente and Sete Rios. Don't get confused.

If at some point you will be renting a car in Portugal, be sure to watch our "How To Drive In Portugal" video for 10 great tips:    • DRIVING IN PORTUGAL; Top 10 Tips

After you get your luggage, I recommend going to the Busbud website or App to book your Bus Ticket for the next available Bus going to your destination. The buses run pretty frequently during the day especially.
