AirTag 2 Release Date and Features | World Unveiled
In April 2021, Apple debuted its AirTag item tracker. Since then, there have been no hardware changes to the attachment, although there have been speculations about a new model.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple supply chain researcher, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman both predict that the second AirTag will be available in 2025.
In October 2023, Kuo said that mass production of the second-generation AirTag had been delayed from the fourth quarter of 2024 to some point in 2025, although he did not explain why.
Last Sunday, Gurman's Power On newsletter reiterated this updated timetable.
"Apple considered launching its second-generation AirTags in 2024, but I'm now told new versions aren't likely to hit the market until 2025," he wrote.
Kuo believes the new AirTag will be compatible with Apple's future Vision Pro headset, but he has not provided any specifics.
Gurman anticipates that the next AirTag will include an updated wireless chip, but he did not specify. It is probable that the AirTag will be upgraded with the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip that appeared in all iPhone 15 models last year, paving the path for enhanced item tracking position accuracy.
