The national carrier Uganda Airlines will take delivery of an Airbus A320neo aircraft next month through an ACMI wet lease arrangement.
Essentially, in a wet lease, the lessee ( Uganda airlines) is renting the capability to operate a specific aircraft for a certain period. Adding this aircraft to the airline's fleet will bridge the gap between its existing four CRJ-900s and two Airbus A330-800neos.
Speaking to UBC’s Samuel Ssenono, Uganda Airlines’ CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki explained that this will also pave the way for more route openings.
