XML DTD : DTD stands for document type definition.
A document type definition defines the legal building blocks of an xml document.
It defines the document structure with a list of legal elements and attributes.
Two types of DTDs:
1. Internal DTD
2. External DTD
1. Internal DTD : A dtd can be declared inside an xml document is called as internal dtd.
2. External DTD: In external dtd, elements are declared outside the xml file.
