Welcome back to another Work In Progress (WIP) Wednesday! I am designing a fantasy video game, and these videos are designed to show the process of creating a video game in Unity. I'll describe where I'm at in the game development process, what I'm working on currently, and show some of the features as they're being developed.
This week, I've been working on the animations for climbing sideways! When animating directional movement, the challenge is not only getting the hands and feet placements on the right frames, but also ensuring that the distance they travel is the same.
I've had some issues in the code which has meant the climbing speed and the animations were mismatched. I seem to have fixed it now, but I'll have to tweak the upwards climbing animation from last week more than I thought I would. Still a bunch of fun to work on though, even with complications!
